In this post, we wanted to go over five tips for YouTube beauty vloggers to help make the vlog content on their channel more effective. Here’s a couple of pointers that you can start applying today:
Make the First 10 Seconds Count
It’s important to make the first ten seconds of your YouTube beauty videos really count. This is where editing really helps. If you’re posting a make-up tutorial, give your viewers a teaser of the end result in the first few seconds of the vlog. You can also take this time to explain what they can expect, too. Whatever you do, make sure that you hook your viewers from the very beginning.
Use a Call to Action in Your Beauty Vlogs
Now, the end of your video is just as important as the beginning. Don’t just say, “Thanks for watching,” and end the video. Instead, always include a call to action. Some really effective and easy calls to action include:
“Let me know what you think of this video in the comments.”
“For behind-the-scenes updates and more tips, check out my Instagram page!”
“Have a topic you want me to cover in a future video? Leave a comment below!”
Your audience wants to interact with you, but sometimes they just need a little push. When you end with a call to action, you’ll give them that push, and they’ll be more likely to get engaged with your beauty vlogs and your YouTube channel.
Add In-Video Graphics and Branding
You want your viewers to know who you are and to immediately recognize your beauty vlogs, whether they come across them on YouTube, your blog, social media, or another website. Adding some branding is a great way to improve that recognition factor. You can do this by adding a branded intro, an in-video graphic of your logo or custom hashtags for your YouTube channel that you use on social media when you discuss your content.
Link to More Content During the End of Your Vlogs
When someone watches one of your beauty vlogs in a playlist, they’re likely to keep watching because the next video will play automatically, but that’s not the only way to get more views on YouTube.
You can also add a YouTube card to your video linking to another relevant video on your channel. The video won’t play automatically like it would in a playlist, but it does increase your viewers’ chances of watching more than one video in a sitting.
Link to Featured Products in the Video Description
You can make a beauty vlog even more helpful to your viewers by linking to the products you feature in your YouTube video descriptions. If you have a product you particularly like or one that you used to get a specific look in a video, go ahead and link to it in the description. That way you won’t leave your audience guessing what you used. So, be sure to let your viewers know that they can find product information and references in your video description.
Keep these five tips in mind to make a beauty vlog that’s effective!
