Building your fan base means getting more people watching, but that can be difficult if your only online presence is on YouTube. However, you can quickly change this by starting a blog connected to your YouTube channel. You could post transcripts of your videos and/or companion blog pieces, including behind-the-scenes footage, tips/advice, news and teasers for upcoming YouTube videos. The key here is to optimize your content with the kinds of keywords that your audience will be searching for.

Your viewers want to feel like they’re a part of something. They want to feel a sense of community, and they want you to be approachable and empathetic. The more you interact with viewers in the comments, with shout-outs and mentions, and by responding to their questions for your videos, the stronger your bond with them will grow.
Encourage Your Viewers to Share Your Videos
And there’s nothing wrong with specifically asking your viewers to like, share, and subscribe to your YouTube videos.
